Dana Prouse BMT, NMT, MTA
Accredited Music Therapist
The music therapy program at Braemar allows residents the opportunity to participate in goal focused music either individually or in a small group setting. Goal areas addressed by music therapy may include but are not limited to gross and fine motor movement, pain control, emotional support, reminiscence, reduction of behaviours, relaxation, communication goals, and socialization. Music can also be an effective aide at the end of life to provide a calming environment, allow families to connect with their loved one and provide a safe space for emotional release.
Music therapy occurs every Thursday at 1:00pm. This program is run by Dana Prouse, an accredited music therapist based out of Clinton.
