Braemar is officially a certified DementiAbility home! DementiAbility makes connections between the brain, a person’s life story, the environment and behaviour. They are homes that look, feel and smell like home. Braemar has been working continuously to set up a prepared  environment that allow success for each individual to be the best they can be. It exposes the abilities and the potential of each person living with dementia.

DementiAbility has many beneficial outcomes:

  • Shows a reduction in responsive behaviours
  • Shows an increase in resident, staff and family satisfaction scores,
  • Improves resident daily living,
  • Provides engagement with meaningful and purposeful leisure

As we make changes to Braemar, they will be in accordance with the DementiAbility model. We are working closely alongside the founder Gail Elliot, as she helps us navigate this process. To learn more about DementiAbility please visit their website at Home – Dementiability
